Julie Wallewein, Kindergarten
I was born and raised in Northern California, graduated from Walla Walla University with a BS degree in Psychology and a minor in Early Childhood Education. Then I followed my husband to Southern California where I taught preschool for 2 years before we moved to Ohio, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, finally settling in Colorado Springs in 1999. I started teaching Kindergarten children in 1999 until 2004 (3 ½ of those years being at SAA) when I stopped teaching to raise our now 5 year old son.
Additional certifications include training from the Riggs Institute in 2001 to teach their Language Arts program, and a certificate from the Dept. of Human Services in 2002 qualifying me to direct large childcare centers and teach Kindergarten in the State of Colorado. I’ve been the Children’s Ministry Coordinator at Central SDA church since 2008 and completed my Children’s Ministry Basic Certification from the NAD in 2010.
My interests outside teaching include; being a mom, reading, genealogy, history, travel, computers and the internet, musicals, and all of God’s creations.
